A useful lip-sync music video is built Shot by Shot. Upload your finished song, decide where a singer should appear on screen, and choose Lipsync only for those Shots. Review a short result before spending credits on a longer sequence.

Before you generate
Choose a short vocal passage you can judge clearly and a performer whose mouth is visible. Use audio and images you have permission to use. For deciding whether the shot needs a visible singer, see the Lipsync fit checklist.
Start frame and Reference image are different
| Input | What it does | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Start frame | Supplies the actual opening image for one Shot video | The face is visible, stable, and suitable for the selected Shot |
| Character reference | Guides identity and appearance across generated images | The identity is clear and you have permission to use the likeness |
| Style reference | Guides color, texture, lighting, or visual treatment | The style supports the Music video's direction without replacing identity |
A Reference image can guide the creation of a Start frame. It does not replace the Start frame required for a Shot video.
Shot-by-shot Lipsync workflow
- Choose the audio passage and ratio. Upload the finished song and choose 16:9 or 9:16. Use the audio and your lyric sheet to locate the vocal line; VibeMV does not read or transcribe lyrics.
- Set the performer. In AI Producer → Main character, upload a character image and/or fill in Character notes. Put the overall story and look in Preferences → Story direction.
- Review the Creative plan. Check each Shot's Image prompt for the starting image and its optional Video prompt for action and camera movement. Select Apply creative plan to bring the plan into the Workspace. Creating and applying a plan is free; this action does not regenerate existing media.
- Check the Shot layout before generating. Each Shot is at most 10 seconds, so a longer vocal passage needs several Shots. If you change an existing layout, read Adjust Splits? before continuing: images may be preserved by time overlap, videos move to the Media archive, and Creative plans for the previous layout become read-only.
- Prepare the Start frame. In the Shot's Image step, edit the image prompt for the Start frame. Use Reference Images to guide that still; they do not replace the Start frame. Click Generate image when you need a new starting image.
- Select the video settings. Choose Lipsync and the Base model or Pro model explicitly. Add action to the optional Video prompt if needed. The Pro model is separate from a Pro subscription. Use Scene for Shots with no visible singing; a Dance Shot is a separate 4–10-second option.
- Generate, review and assemble. Watch the mouth at normal speed before keeping the Shot. Use the mouth-timing and face review checklist. Change a concrete input before paying to Regenerate, then assemble the reviewed Shots and export.
Credits and commercial use
A 10-second Lipsync Shot uses 20 Base video credits or 80 Pro video credits. One newly generated Start frame adds 4, making that example 24 or 84 credits before a new character image, further attempts or optional 2K.
For 15 seconds split across multiple Shots, the video portion totals 30 Base credits or 120 Pro credits; add each new Start frame and any extras separately. Check the Workspace quote before generating. See current pricing and the Base vs Pro guide for plan allowances and options.
An active Hobby, Pro or Studio subscription includes commercial use. Free usage and standalone credit packs are for personal use; a subscription does not clear third-party song, image or likeness rights.
Frequently asked questions
Can a reference image replace the Start frame?
No. A reference image guides image creation. Generate or choose a Start frame for the Shot before generating its video.
Does Apply creative plan regenerate existing media?
No. Applying the plan updates Workspace inputs and selected references; existing images and videos are not regenerated. Generating a new image or video uses credits.
