DistroVid distributes the file; each service controls acceptance.

Your masterDistroVidSpotify + other services

Checked July 30, 2026. DistroVid can deliver full-length music videos to Spotify and several other services. For a standard Spotify music video, the matching audio release normally must also be distributed by DistroKid; live performance is the stated exception. Lyric videos and covers are not eligible through this Spotify route, and Spotify still reviews every delivery.

DistroVid makes sense when
  • You want one video delivered to several music services
  • The matching Spotify audio release is distributed by DistroKid
  • You need a distributor because direct upload is unavailable
Confirm another route when
  • Another distributor controls the matching Spotify audio
  • The video is a cover, lyric video, visualizer, or multi-song edit
  • You need guaranteed Spotify acceptance or an immediate launch

DistroVid Price and Supported Platforms

DistroKid's US Spotify resource displayed $8.25 per month when checked on July 30, 2026. The main DistroVid landing page can show local currency and annual billing, so verify the current total, taxes, billing period, and included artist slots at checkout rather than treating one price as permanent.

A base DistroVid subscription covers unlimited music video uploads for one artist. Additional artist slots may cost more. DistroVid currently lists these destinations:

  • Spotify
  • Apple Music
  • Vevo
  • Amazon Music
  • Tidal
  • Boomplay
  • The optional DistroVid Gallery

DistroVid says artists keep 100% of earnings from distributed videos. Read the current subscription and payout terms before purchase; service availability, monetization, rights, and territory rules still differ by destination.

Spotify Eligibility Through DistroVid

For a standard official music video, DistroKid currently requires:

  1. The associated audio track is also distributed to Spotify by DistroKid.
  2. The artist name and track title match the audio release exactly.
  3. The video is not for a cover song.
  4. The video is not a lyric video.

A live-performance video can be delivered without an associated DistroKid audio release, but it must contain one song. DistroVid does not currently support live-performance videos of cover songs for Spotify.

These rules are specific to DistroVid's Spotify delivery path. Spotify for Artists direct upload has a different workflow and can support covers when the artist team has beta access. Compare both routes in the Spotify music video upload guide.

DistroVid Music Video Requirements

Use DistroVid's stricter cross-service master specifications rather than exporting only to Spotify's broader compatible range.

DistroVid also rejects common promotional and quality problems: watermarks, logos, static text or subtitles, social handles, URLs, QR codes, advertisements, still-image slideshows, shortened teasers, multiple songs, unintended glitches, sync problems, and third-party or stock footage that fails its originality rules.

Review the exact DistroVid upload requirements before producing the final master.

How to Deliver a Video With DistroVid

01

Upload the finished master

Use a compliant full-length file and choose Spotify plus any other supported services.

02

Match the release metadata

For Spotify, the artist and title must match the associated DistroKid audio release exactly.

03

Submit for delivery

DistroVid processes the release, then each selected service performs its own review.

04

Leave release-day margin

DistroVid recommends uploading at least four weeks before a fixed launch date.

If a video was already released through DistroVid, its current help article says you can open the video, choose Add more platforms, and select Spotify. Spotify reviews videos for what DistroKid calls premium video quality; opting in does not guarantee approval.

Release Timing

DistroKid says processed and approved DistroVid videos typically go live on services in 1-5 days. That is not a release-day guarantee. Store review, rights clearance, corrections, and platform queues can add time.

For a coordinated launch, DistroKid recommends uploading at least four weeks before the planned date. If Spotify rejects the video or the matching audio release is changed or removed, the video can also fail to appear or be removed.

US Publishing Clearance

Spotify video availability in the United States has additional composition clearance requirements. DistroKid's current guidance says:

  • The composition must be fully registered with The MLC, including all publisher shares.
  • Every relevant publisher must opt into Spotify's audiovisual license through HFA.

If you use a publishing administrator, confirm that it handles both steps. Otherwise, DistroKid points artists to HFA's affiliate-publisher route. Read the current DistroKid US clearance guide before scheduling US availability.

Where VibeMV Fits

VibeMV creates the music video file; DistroVid distributes it. Start with a rights-cleared song, define the visual direction, generate AI shots around the song sections, review weak footage, and export the finished 16:9 edit.

The standard VibeMV export is 720p. Use the optional 2K upscale before a DistroVid delivery that requires at least 1920 x 1080, then verify the exported codec, frame rate, scan type, audio, overlays, and file size independently.

Use the AI music video generator for the full video workflow. Check the Spotify music video requirements before final export.

AI generation does not bypass DistroVid's originality or rights rules. Do not submit footage, faces, logos, characters, or other assets you cannot lawfully distribute. DistroVid and each streaming service make the final acceptance decision.

FAQ

Can DistroVid deliver a music video to Spotify?

Yes. DistroVid currently lists Spotify as a supported destination. Spotify reviews each submitted video, so selecting Spotify does not guarantee that the video will be accepted or published.

How much does DistroVid cost?

DistroKid's US Spotify resource displayed $8.25 per month when checked on July 30, 2026, while the main DistroVid page showed region-specific currency and annual billing. Confirm the current total, billing period, tax, and artist slots at checkout.

Does my audio release need to use DistroKid?

For a standard music video delivered to Spotify through DistroVid, DistroKid says the associated audio release must also be distributed by DistroKid and the artist and title must match exactly. Live-performance videos are the stated exception.

Can DistroVid send a lyric video or cover to Spotify?

No. DistroKid's current Spotify delivery requirements exclude lyric videos and cover-song videos. Live performances are eligible, but DistroVid does not currently support live-performance videos of cover songs for Spotify.

How long does DistroVid delivery take?

DistroKid says approved DistroVid videos typically go live on services in 1-5 days, but platform review can take longer. It recommends uploading at least four weeks before a fixed release date.

Can an AI-generated music video use DistroVid?

DistroVid does not publish a separate AI-video workflow. The final video still needs to meet its originality, rights, technical, metadata, and content requirements. DistroVid and each destination make the final acceptance decision.
